The Post-Christmas Hangover
I hope all of you had a very Merry Christmas filled with too many cookies, glasses of wine & good gifts. It’s hard to believe that weeks of hunting and wrapping and packing and addressing is all over for another year!
Here we kept things quiet. A visit to Santa on the 23rd. You probably wouldn’t imagine from these pictures that my little guy screamed for the hour and 25 minutes that we waited in line.
It was unexpectedly cold and I hadn’t brought gloves for the kids thus the strangely large hands. Luckily he was fired up to tell Santa that he wanted a truck (which Santa’s helper had failed to get) so he didn’t scream on Santa’s lap. And besides, who can resist an accordion playing Santa?
That night was a Christmas gathering with our closest bitches and their boys. I was too busy concentrating on my glass of wine to think of taking pictures.
Christmas Eve was a frenzy of wrapping and cooking and general prepping for Christmas. We headed over to a friend’s house for Spanish tapas, fondu and Jesus’ birthday cake ( a black forest cake) and had a lovely little evening. Again my wine glass was too tempting for pictures.
Santa got out all the presents and set them under the tree.
Christmas morning the kids woke up in their matching jammies. I think with an eleven year old this will be the last time I can get away with this.
It was a frenzy of unwrapping with the Jake and the Neverland Pirates
and this bizarre card game ending up as the favorites.
After a trip to church
we settled in for feasting on Creme Brulee French Toast Souffle and Eggs Benedict. There might have been mimosas involved explaining the lack of pictures yet again. The rest of the day was lounging in work out wear and bed by 9:30.
Hope you enjoy the rest of 2013 and have fun plans for the New Year’s!
