It’s an Oregon kind of weekend
What do you do when Frontier starts a direct flight from Denver to Eugene, Oregon with round trip tickets at just $150? Why you head off with 3 kids in tow for a four day weekend! Mr Man is enjoying some much needed downtime (when not working on my to-do list) and catching up on his sleep.
And what do you do when you’re in Oregon? Stay at your friend’s beautiful, inviting home and wake up every morning to this view.
Take a drive out to the coast on an absolutely perfect fall day (let me tell you bright, gorgeous, still days at the coast are something to be treasured).
Enjoy a lovely evening of good friends, good drinks (look for this one in a future episode of “Raise your glass”), and kids big and small singing karaoke. Unfortunately I was having too much fun to remember to take pictures.
You do an early morning pop in at the farmers’ market. To oogle all the gorgeous produce and flowers.
You meet more friends for a carousel ride and a romp in the park on the Salem waterfront.
Followed by a bit of shopping at the arbor
but we had to keep rolling onto the next stop, French Prairie Farms to meet up with more friends. It was a pumpkin patch, maze, games, rides & pig races rolled into one.
Merry-go-round, playground, lunch out and an afternoon at a pumpkin patch made for several happy kiddos.
Sunday was antler hunting (my craigslist find for just $45!), lunching, checking out Green Gables Farm
a little playing in the park & with more friends, lunch at a the most scrumptious Vietnamese-French fusion restaurant, Magenta (and thank you Kimber for staying open for us!) and finally dinner at my favorite ever pizza place, American Dream (yep, even presidents dine here when visiting Corvallis). Yeah, while I was eating my way across Oregon, Erin setting a PR in a half marathon in Michigan. Something might not be quite right with this picture…
Thanks to all our Oregon people for a fabulous weekend, wish it had been longer so we could have seen even more of all the people we love!
As this posts we’ll be on our 6am flight home, exhausted, happy and hoping for another visit to one of our favorite destinations in the near future!
